Creating a COVID-Prepared Environment
I have carried out a risk assessment with particular emphasis on government advice for protection against Covid-19. In the course of this exercise I have:
- Sanitised touch-points, eg door handles, light switches, bannisters.
- Deep cleaned bedrooms and bathrooms
- Deep cleaned the dining area in the kitchen
- I intend to leave a three-day fallow period between bookings in any room. This will give plenty of time for a deep-clean and is the maximum time the virus can survive on a hard surface.
I am asking all guests to complete an online questionnaire a day before their visit to ensure that no infection is brought to the house. If there are any doubts, a full refund will be made for cancellation of a booking.
On arrival, I will take the temperature of all guests and, assuming that is fine, ask all guests to use hand sanitiser before showing them their rooms. I will not offer to carry bags.
Items such as teas and coffees, visitor information folders and hairdryers are no longer being left in the bedrooms, but are available on arrival as required. Please ask for whatever you want! I hope to be able to provide all that you need, duly sanitised.
I will ask for your breakfast order the evening before. I will practice the recommended social distancing in the kitchen/dining room. This means that table service will no longer be possible, but guests will be asked to pick up meals from the breakfast bar. If more than one party is staying, I may extend the table to ensure guests are separated correctly, or I may have to serve breakfasts at separate times. If guests prefer, I can serve a continental breakfast to their bedroom doors.
I will be practicing recommended hygiene regulations by washing my hands thoroughly and regularly whilst preparing breakfasts. I will ensure that crockery and cutlery and other items on the table are only touched by clean hands.
Any guest who suffers symptoms while staying at 1 The Paddocks should alert me by text or phone call from their room. I will then follow government guidelines regarding their treatment and/or isolation.
Any guest who suffers from COVID-19 within 14 days of leaving 1 The Paddocks should advise me immediately on diagnosis so that I can take the necessary precautions to protect others.
Your understanding and reciprocal attention to preventing the spread of the virus is greatly appreciated.
